About the qualification

Our CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support reflects the role of workers in community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support to empower people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. This course promotes the person-centred approach, with workers operating autonomously and should have the capability to supervise a small team.

Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, students should be able to: 

  • identify safe work practices for client care 

  • facilitate the rights, interests and empowerment of people with disabilities 

  • provide person-centred services to people with disabilities with complex needs.

Outcome

Successful completion of the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support may lead to employment opportunities, including:

  • Disability Support Worker 

  • Care Team Leader 

  • Case Manager.

Duration

This qualification can be completed up to thirty-six months, dependent on the student's experience, Credit Transfer (CT) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Apply for CT or RPL during enrolment.

Delivery

This course may be delivered through face-to-face, online, or work-based training. We use a range of assessment methods for this qualification, including: 

  • short answers

  • projects 

  • activities 

  • workplace observation

  • observation in a simulated workplace.

Student Requirements

The following will be required for the enrolment process:

  • Unique Student Identifier (USI)

  • verifiable identification documents

  • completion of the LLN assessment.

Students will require access to appropriate technology and internet if the materials are delivered online.


Prerequisites: Prior to enrolment, students must have successfully completed one of the following qualifications:


  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

  • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability and CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.

This nationally recognised qualification is delivered and assessed by Work Savvy Pty Ltd, RTO ID 91778, ABN 20 132 057 384. This training will deliver skills and knowledge to the industry standard but does not guarantee a job. We tailor training for people from diverse backgrounds, including those with a disability.

Fees

This course is available on a fee-for-service basis at $8,000 per student. Should you require an RPL assessment, please contact us for fees and arrangements. 


ADDITIONAL FEES  

  • Extension/Suspension Fee (administration charges): $50  

  • Replacement of Testamur/statement of attainment/Qualification Certificate: $50  

  • Repeat of unit (Third attempt onwards Per unit): $150  

  • RPL and RCC assessment: Contact us for a quote

Work Savvy does not accept upfront payments of more than $1,500. If a student's fee is more than this amount, the support of a flexible payment plan will be offered to students.
