Overview
Gain the confidence and skills to step in and help when every second counts. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid equips you with practical know-how to respond swiftly and safely to emergencies—whether at work, home, or in your community. You’ll learn how to assess situations, deliver lifesaving first aid (including CPR and AED use), and manage common injuries and illnesses until qualified help arrives. Delivered face to face in‑person this practical training and assessment ensures you grasp hands-on skills.

What you will gain
You’ll come away with
- A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (plus HLTAID009 and HLTAID010) upon successful completion
- Hands-on skills to perform CPR and manage emergencies effectively, in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
- Confidence to assess and act safely and respectfully in crisis situations, and to support psychological recovery afterward
Learning outcomes
- Recognise and assess emergency situations to ensure safety for yourself and others
- Apply first aid protocols including CPR, AED use, recovery positioning, and managing bleeding, burns, fractures, asthma, anaphylaxis, choking, and shock
- Communicate effectively - calling emergency services, reporting incidents, and completing necessary documentation while maintaining privacy
- Respond to psychological impacts on yourself and others, and contribute to debrief and review processes

How you will study
Delivery
This course is delivered through face-to-face training and assessment with a strong practical focus. Participants will complete hands-on activities and simulated emergency scenarios designed to build confidence and competence in applying first aid skills.
