Certificate IV

in Ageing Support

Our CHC43015 – Certificate IV in Ageing Support reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters. 

 

Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, you will be able to:

  • Identify safe work practices for direct client care;

  • Facilitate the rights, interests and empowerment of clients; and

  • Identify and meet the support needs of clients.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Successful completion of the CHC43015 – Certificate IV in Ageing Support, may lead to employment opportunities, including:

  • Aged care activity worker;

  • Care service team leader; or

  • Care supervisor.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, prior to enrolment, students are required to provide their Working with Children's Check clearance number, National Police Check clearance certificate, Unique Student Identifier and photo identification. Prospective students may be required to complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. All requirements are subject to change at any time as per amendments to the Public Health Orders.

ASSESSMENT

We use a range of assessment methods for this qualification, including:

  • Short answers;

  • Projects;

  • Activities; and

  • Workplace Observation or Observation in a Simulated Workplace.

WORK PLACEMENT

This training program includes a minimum of 120 hours of industry work placement.

 

DURATION AND MODE

Duration:

This qualification can be completed in twelve months. The volume of learning offered by Work Savvy may vary per student depending on their existing skills and knowledge. More experienced students are likely to complete the course in a shorter period of time. The duration may vary depending on Credit Transfer [CT] or Recognition of Prior Learning [RPL]. Students can apply for CT or RPL at the time of enrolment

 

Delivery:

Delivery of training may take differing forms, including Face-to-Face and Online, dependent on the requirements of the Client or the needs of the cohort.

Fees & Charges.

FEE FOR SERVICE

This course is available on a fee-for-service basis:

  • $6,000

  • Work Savvy does not accept upfront payments of more than $1,500. If a student’s fee is more than this amount, the support of a flexible payment plan will be offered to students.

ADDITIONAL FEES
  • Deferment Fee (administration charges) $50

  • Replacement of Testamur/ statement of attainment / Qualification Certificate $50

  • Repeat of unit (Third attempt onwards Per unit) $150
