Certificate III
in Individual Support

Our CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate improved workplace communication skills and provide person-centred support;

  • Identify safe work practices for direct client care; and

  • Understand day to day activities in healthy and community care industries.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Successful completion of the CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support, may lead to employment opportunities, including:

  • Assistant in Nursing;

  • Home Care Assistant; or

  • Personal Care Worker.

ASSESSMENT

We use a range of assessment methods for this qualification, including:

  • Short answers;

  • Projects;

  • Activities; and

  • Workplace Observation or Observation in a Simulated Workplace.

WORK PLACEMENT

This training program includes a minimum of 120 hours of industry work placement.

This qualification will be superseded by July 2024. Any training or work placement not completed prior to July 2024 will result in students being transitioned to the revised qualification. As part of this transition, students may be required to complete additional training and assessment. Prior to applying, students will be advised of any additional fees or requirements. Note: The revised qualification includes an entry requirement.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

There are no entry requirements for this qualification however prior to enrolment, students are required to provide their;

  • WWCC (Working with Children's Check),

  • National Police Check clearance certificate,

  • Unique Student Identifier, and

  • Photo identification.

Prospective students may be required to complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. All requirements are subject to change at any time as per amendments to the Public Health Orders.

DURATION AND MODE

Duration:

This qualification can be completed in twelve months. The volume of learning offered by Work Savvy Training may vary per student depending on their existing skills and knowledge. More experienced students are likely to complete the course in a shorter period of time. The duration may vary depending on Credit Transfer [CT] or Recognition of Prior Learning [RPL]. Students can apply for CT or RPL at the time of enrolment

 

Delivery:

Delivery of training may take differing forms, including Face-to-Face and Online, dependent on the requirements of the Client or the needs of the cohort.

Fees & Charges.

QLD FEES

This training is subsidised by the QLD Government. Student co-contribution fees are as follows:

  • Concession: $19.50 per qualification

  • Non-concession: $39 per qualification

Note: If you have completed your Year 12 in the past 12 months, and reside in QLD, you do not need to pay any fee at all when you enrol in a QLD government subsidised course.

FEE FOR SERVICE

If you are ineligible for government subsidised training, or would rather undertake this course on a fee-for-service (FFS) basis, the cost to undertake this nationally recognised qualification is:

  • $4,500

  • Work Savvy does not accept upfront payments of more than $1,500. If a student’s fee is more than this amount, the support of a flexible payment plan will be offered to students.

  • Deferment Fee (administration charges) $50

  • Replacement of Testamur/ statement of attainment / Qualification Certificate $50

  • Repeat of unit (Third attempt onwards Per unit) $150
